Cape Town annually hosts the world famous, Argus Cycle Tour. It is held on the 9 March 2008 on a Sunday. It is the largest timed cycle tour in the world, making it a great international attraction. It started as a meagre race in 1978 and today draws over 35,000 entrants from both South Africa as well as all international racers.
The route covers some of the most beautiful and scenic paths in South Africa, covering the amazing Cape Peninsula. The Argus route is 109km and encourages entrants from serious cyclists as well as those just wanting to enjoy the ride and take in the scenic beauty.
